Dental Implants in Las Vegas, NV

Dental implants replace missing teeth with a permanent root and crown rather than something that sits on top of the gum. At Nevada Oral & Facial Surgery they are placed by our oral and maxillofacial surgeons at our Las Vegas, Henderson and Summerlin offices. Implant consultations are free. Call (702) 842-0472 to arrange one.

What a dental implant actually is

An implant has three parts. A titanium or zirconia post is placed into the jawbone and takes the role of the tooth root. An abutment connects that post to the visible tooth. A crown, bridge or denture sits on top and is what you see and chew with.

Because the post sits in the bone rather than on it, the jaw keeps being used. That is the difference that matters over time. A missing tooth lets the bone underneath shrink, which is why long-term gaps change the shape of the face.

Why an oral surgeon rather than a general dentist

Placing an implant is surgery in bone. Our oral and maxillofacial surgeons operate in the jaw and face as their daily work, which matters most in the cases that are not straightforward: not enough bone, a sinus in the way, a failed implant placed elsewhere, or a full arch being rebuilt.

It also means sedation is handled in house by the same team doing the surgery, rather than referred out.

The implant options we place

Single tooth implant. One post, one crown. Replaces one missing tooth without touching the teeth on either side, which is the main advantage over a traditional bridge.

Multiple implants. Two or more posts supporting a bridge across a longer gap.

All-on-4 full arch. A complete upper or lower arch of fixed teeth supported by four implants. Covered in detail on our All-on-4 dental implants page.

Implant-supported dentures. A denture that clips onto implants instead of resting on the gum, so it does not move while eating or speaking.

Zygomatic implants. For patients told elsewhere that they do not have enough upper jaw bone for implants. These anchor into the cheekbone instead, and they are the reason some patients who were turned down elsewhere can still be treated. See zygomatic dental implants.

Metal-free zirconia. An alternative to titanium for patients who want it.

What it costs in Las Vegas

Cost depends on how many teeth are being replaced, whether bone grafting is needed first, and which restoration sits on top. A single implant is a different conversation from a full arch, and neither has a useful sticker price.

What we can tell you before you come in: the consultation is free, we will give you a written figure for your own case, and financing is available. The factors that move the number up or down are set out on our dental implant cost page.

What the process looks like

Consultation. A 3D scan of the jaw, a look at bone volume and nerve position, and a plan with a cost. Free, and no obligation.

Placement. The post goes into the jaw under local anaesthetic or sedation. Most patients are surprised by how ordinary the day is.

Healing. The bone grows onto the implant surface over several months. A temporary tooth is fitted where appearance matters.

Final restoration. The permanent crown, bridge or denture goes on.

Some cases receive teeth the same day the implants are placed.

Common questions

How long do dental implants last? The implant itself is designed to be permanent. The crown on top is the part that may eventually need replacing, in the same way any restoration does.

Does it hurt? The placement is done under anaesthetic or sedation. Afterwards most patients describe soreness rather than pain, and it can be controlled with over-the-counter pain medication such as Tylenol and Ibuprofen.

I was told I do not have enough bone. Worth a second opinion. Bone grafting, sinus lifts and zygomatic implants exist precisely for this, and it is a large part of what an oral surgeon does.

Will insurance cover it? Some plans contribute toward implants and many do not. Bring your plan details to the consultation and we will go through it with you, and financing options are set out on our financing page.

Am I too old? No. Bone health matters, age does not.
