A Complete Transformation

The challenges posed by missing or damaged teeth extend beyond inconvenience and discomfort. They often lead to shame and self-consciousness, turning routine activities like biting, chewing, and brushing into burdens. The oral health risks associated with missing teeth cannot be ignored.

Untreated tooth loss accelerates jawbone and gum deterioration, leading to painful inflammation and the potential development of chronic inflammatory disease. Fortunately, even severe oral deterioration can be effectively addressed through cutting-edge all-on-4 dental implants. At Nevada Oral & Facial Surgery, our advanced procedures allow you to arrive for your visit and leave that same day with a beautiful new set of teeth, offering relief from up to 99% of the challenges and complications associated with tooth loss!

What Happens, From Your First Call to Your Final Teeth

Full mouth implant treatment runs in stages over several months. Knowing the order of events makes the decision easier, and it tells you exactly what you are agreeing to before you agree to any of it.

1Free consultation and 3D scanConsultations for implant treatment are free. We take a 3D scan of your jaw, review your health history, and our treatment coordinator checks what your insurance does and does not cover. You also find out whether you have enough bone for standard implants.
2Your written treatment planYou leave with a written plan and a real figure rather than an estimate. It covers which arch or arches are being treated and whether anything needs to happen first, such as extractions or bone grafting.
3Surgery dayFour implants are placed in each arch being treated, angled to make use of the bone you already have. In most cases a temporary fixed bridge is fitted the same day, so you do not go home without teeth. Your surgeon confirms at the consultation whether that applies in your case.
4HealingThe implants fuse with the bone over the following months, usually somewhere around three to six. You wear the temporary bridge through this period and eat a softer diet while everything settles.
5Your final teethOnce the implants have fused, the temporary bridge is replaced with your final fixed teeth, made in the material you chose at planning.

Your own timeline depends on your jaw, your general health and whether any preparation is needed first. The surgeon who would perform your surgery gives you that timeline at the consultation.

Sedation for Full Mouth Implant Surgery

Placing a full arch of implants is surgery, and how comfortable you are through it is a decision worth making in advance rather than on the day. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons train in anesthesia as well as surgery, which is part of what separates this specialty from general dentistry.

We offer nitrous oxide and IV sedation. Which one suits you depends on the length of your procedure, your medical history and how anxious you feel about treatment, and it is settled during planning. You can read more on our sedation and anesthesia options page.

What Affects the Cost of Full Mouth Dental Implants

There is no single price for full mouth implants, because no two mouths need the same work. These are the things that move the figure:

  • One arch or both. Treating the upper and lower jaw is a larger procedure than treating one.
  • Whether teeth need removing first. Extractions are often part of the same surgery.
  • How much bone you have. Grafting adds to the plan. Where bone loss is severe, zygomatic implants anchor into the cheekbone instead, which is a different procedure with its own cost.
  • The material of your final teeth. A zirconia fixed bridge is stronger and more stain resistant than acrylic, and it is priced accordingly.
  • Your sedation choice. Nitrous oxide and IV sedation are not equivalent in cost.

Because the consultation is free, you can find out your real number before committing to anything. Financing options are available if you would rather spread the cost, and if you want to get a sense of implant pricing before you come in, we have written about the cost of implant supported dentures.

FAQ: Questions You May Ask?

  • Are All-On-4 dental implants worth it?

All-On-4 dental implants can be worth it to people who need and want a permanent solution to missing teeth, tooth decay, or just a bad smile. They can improve your ability to eat and speak, and they’re more stable and durable than dentures. However, they may not be suitable for everyone and can be expensive.

  • What are All-On-4 dental implants?

All-On-4 is a dental implant technique in which the upper or lower teeth are replaced with just four implants. These four Implants act as a support mechanism for placing a new set of fixed teeth. The patient must stick to a liquid diet for the first two weeks after surgery.

  • What are All-On-4 dental implants made of?

Zirconia is one of the most frequently used materials in dentistry today for All-On-4 implants. All-On-4 Zirconia bridges are a long-lasting, aesthetic, and holistic approach to replacing missing teeth. Zirconia remains at the forefront, offering patients a holistic approach to achieving a functional and beautiful smile. More on our zirconia fixed bridge option.

  • How does an All-On-4 dental implant placement surgery work?

The All-on-4 method allows four implants to be placed in each arch (top and bottom) of your mouth. These titanium screws serve as a stable foundation for your prosthetic teeth. Once placed, it will take approximately 3-6 months for them to fuse fully with the bone through a process called osseointegration.

  • Can my All-On-4 dental implants fail?

Certain lifestyle factors can also increase the risk of failure in dental implants. These include smoking, drinking, and maintaining a good hygiene routine. These things don’t prevent you from having the procedure but can affect your success both in the short term and over the life of your treatment.

  • Are there affordable low rates for All-On-4 implants?

There are financing options within Nevada Oral & Facial Surgery for your All-On-4 implants, such as Sunbit, LendingClub, ProceedFinance, and CareCredit. Our affordable dental solutions allow you to say yes to necessary treatments that fit your budget. Don’t let cost stand in the way of your dental health!
