Dr. Gregory J. Hunter

Dr. Hunter loves surgery! And he loves helping patients! Whether he is helping people who have lost teeth get dental implants to replace them or helping teenagers with their wisdom teeth, he is among the best at helping patients improve their lives. And he loves having fun while he does it! You might actually hear him try to sing during surgery. He’s not very good at singing but he likes to try. If you don’t want him to sing, ask him to play some music and you’ll be pals forever, especially if it’s classic rock. Dr. Hunter also enjoys any activity that is a threat to life or limb and lives by the creed, “You can’t die hardcore if you don’t live hardcore.” Ask him about what he does on the weekends and you’ll probably hear a good story. He also has lots of good tips if you want to have your own adventure.

Despite all the fun, he is serious about being the best in his field. He graduated at the top of his dental school class at the University of Louisville, trained at Indiana University Medical Center, and is always learning new techniques for his patients. He is currently a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and practices a full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is most passionate about full mouth reconstruction and has performed thousands of the All-on-Four dental implant surgery.

Symptoms Treated at Nevada Oral & Facial Surgery

Oral surgery can address a wide range of dental and facial concerns, providing effective and permanent solutions for the following conditions.

  • Relief for Painful or Impacted Wisdom Teeth

When wisdom teeth lack the space to emerge or grow, they become “impacted.” This often leads to intense jaw throbbing, localized swelling, and pressure on neighboring teeth. Our oral surgeons specialize in the gentle removal of these problematic molars, stopping the cycle of recurring infections and preventing long-term damage to your dental alignment.

  • Solutions for Missing Teeth & Gaps

Empty spaces in your smile are more than just an aesthetic concern; they can cause your remaining teeth to shift and lead to bone deterioration. We provide a full range of restorative options, from single-tooth implants to All-On-4® full-mouth restorations. These treatments restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile with total confidence while preserving the structural integrity of your face.

  • Care for Broken, Cracked, or Infected Teeth

A severely decayed or fractured tooth can lead to a painful abscess and systemic health complications if the infection spreads. When a tooth is beyond the help of a standard filling or crown, our surgical team can safely perform an extraction to remove the source of the pain. We also coordinate immediate plans for restoration to ensure you aren’t left with a gap in your smile.

  • Correcting Jaw Misalignment & Facial Imbalance

Structural issues with the jaw can manifest as chronic TMJ pain, difficulty chewing, or a noticeably asymmetrical facial appearance. Through corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), we can realign the upper and lower jaws. This not only improves the “balance” of your facial features but also resolves functional bite issues and chronic discomfort.

  • Advanced Treatment for Severe Bone Loss

If you have been told you aren’t a candidate for implants due to a lack of jawbone density, we can help. Using state-of-the-art bone grafting and zygomatic implants, we can rebuild lost volume and create a stable foundation for new teeth. Our advanced technology allows us to restore function even in the most complex cases of bone resorption.

  • Diagnosis of Facial Cysts & Jaw Growths

Discovering an unusual lump or growth in the mouth or jaw can be stressful. Whether a growth is benign or requires more intensive care, our surgeons perform precise biopsies to provide a definitive diagnosis. We focus on early intervention and surgical removal to protect your oral health and provide peace of mind.

Preparing for Your Procedure: Pre-Surgical Safety

To ensure your surgery is as safe and predictable as possible, we walk you through pre-operative instructions. This includes essential steps like fasting requirements, choosing comfortable attire, and coordinating with a designated driver for your trip home. By following these pre-operative guidelines, you help our clinical team create the ideal environment for a successful surgery and a smooth transition into healing.

Your Recovery Roadmap: Post-Operative Care

The success of your surgery continues long after you leave our office. We provide every patient with comprehensive post-operative instructions and a recovery plan designed to minimize swelling, manage discomfort effectively, and protect the surgical site. From specific oral hygiene tips to nutritional advice and activity restrictions, we ensure you have a clear roadmap for healing. Our team remains available to answer your questions, ensuring you feel supported and confident throughout your entire recovery period.

Affordable Care & Easy Payment Plans

We believe that high-quality surgical care should be accessible to everyone. To help manage the cost of your treatment, we offer a variety of straightforward payment and financing options.

Payment Methods: We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards.

Flexible Financing: To make larger treatments more affordable, we partner with trusted third-party providers like CareCredit, LendingClub, and Mountain America. These plans allow you to break your total cost into manageable monthly installments.

Expert Guidance: You don’t have to figure it out alone. Our dedicated Financial Coordinator will work with you one-on-one to explain your options, help with the application process, and find a solution that fits your budget.

Our goal is complete transparency; no hidden fees, just high-quality care that works for your lifestyle.
