What Are 3D X-rays?
3D CBCT X-rays are a safer and faster version of a regular CAT scans or CTs. A cone-shaped X-ray beam is used through rotation and produces cross-sectional images of facial bone and soft tissue with a variety of different resolutions. This advanced technique and technology offers very clear images of the most valuable details required for proper diagnosis, while at the same time limiting patient exposure to radiation. How Often Should Radiographs Be Taken?
A patient’s unique characteristics such as current oral health, age, and risk for disease are primary determinants of how often X-rays should be taken. For example, children may require X-rays more often than adults. This is because their teeth and jaws are still developing. Their teeth are also more likely to be affected by tooth decay than those of adults.
